Marlene Williams 1940-2026

CORTLAND — Marlene Williams, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2026, at her home.

She was born June 3, 1940, in Warren, the daughter of John and Sabina DeJacimo Skovran.

Marlene graduated from Warren G. Harding High School Class of 1958 and Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. She was employed as a nurse and worked at Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital for many years.

She was a former member of Cortland Trinity Baptist Church and most recently a member of Champion Baptist Church, where she wore many hats, including bookkeeper, children’s church teacher, youth ministry leader and choir member, and also as a member, singing with her husband. Marlene was a prayer warrior who prayed for people often.

She was a resourceful seamstress and was always working on a craft or sewing project. She enjoyed maintaining her yard’s landscape. Marlene will be dearly missed by her dog, Sandie.

She is survived by her son, Mark Williams of Cortland; daughters, Marlissa (Mike) Hughes of Cortland and Melinda (Mike) Mullins of Lordstown; grandchildren, Micah (Hanna) of Columbus, Seth (Olivia) of Warren, Luke (Alysse) of New Jersey, Aaron (Sydney) of Maryland, Brooke (Mike) of Chicago, Illinois, Annalise (Brandon) of Rootstown and Sarah (Blake) of Cortland; and great-grandchildren, Ella, May, Hudson, Tommy, Gwen, Lincoln and Claire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald G. Williams.

Services will begin 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Myron D. Daum will officiate.

Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at the funeral home.

Private interment will be in Howland Township Cemetery, Howland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
