Robert D. Mounts 1950-2026
CHAMPION — Robert D. Mounts, 75, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born March 17, 1950, in Williamson, W.Va., the son of Walter E. and Josephine Ball Mounts.
Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he played in the Marine Corps band. He retired from General Motors-Lordstown. He fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending Youngstown State University and earning his bachelor’s degree, all while working full time. He played the baritone and was quite good on the guitar. Bob enjoyed classic cars, chatting with friends and listening to music.
Precious memories of Bob live on with his son, Martin Mounts (Tawnie) of Howland; his daughter, Melinda Bass of Howland; three grandsons, Dallas, Ethan and Kyle; one sister, Gloria Hensley of Pinsonfork, Kentucky; one brother, Larry J. Mounts (Shirley) of Hardy, Kentucky; and many other friends and family who love him and think of him fondly.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife of 45 years, Georgia Ann Brown Mounts, who passed away Aug. 19, 2025; and his brother, Ronald Mounts.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Full military honors will be conferred. All who know and love Bob are welcome to attend and celebrate his good life.
Interment will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park.
