Raymond Witherstine Jr. 1953-2026

NILES — Raymond D. Witherstine Jr., 72, of Niles, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

Raymond was born July 26, 1953, in Warren, the son of Raymond D. Witherstine Sr. and Marjorie Mae Parker.

He was a proud 1971 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and later attended truck-driving school, earning his CDL and beginning a long career as a hardworking provider.

Ray spent many years employed at U.S. Steel and other area steel companies. Never one to sit still, he was a man of many talents and trades. He later became self-employed as the owner of RDW Lawn Care, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built with customers and friends.

In his spare time, Ray enjoyed refurbishing furniture and could often be found working with his hands, fixing, building or restoring something to new life.

Above all, Ray was devoted to his family. He shared nearly five decades of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Miller Witherstine, whom he married in June of 1976. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work and family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia; his son, Matthew Ray Witherstine and his wife Vone of Columbus; his daughter, Christine Marie Witherstine of Niles; his sister, Anita Scott and her husband, John of Niles; and his three cherished grandchildren, Dominic and Dakota Klamfoth, and Riley Acevedo-Ruiz; along with extended family and friends.

Per the family’s request, there will be no services.

Ray will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his willingness to help others and the many skills he shared throughout his life.
