Loretta M. Guyer 1937-2026

GIRARD — Loretta Mae Guyer, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at Hospice House in Poland.

Loretta was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Youngstown, the daughter of Edward and Mary Romie Jones.

Loretta was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She had worked as a custodian for Girard City Schools for several years, but she will be remembered most fondly for her life as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. The love and care of her family was her main purpose in life, especially after the death of her husband 38 years ago.

Loretta enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and occasionally enjoyed going to the casino. She also loved listening and dancing to polkas.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sheryl (William) Enyeart of Girard, David (JoAnn) Guyer of Poland, Dale Guyer of Fowler, Mary Jean (Daniel) Hepfner, also of Fowler, Daniel (Judy) Guyer of Girard, John Guyer of Fowler, Kirk Guyer of South Bend, Indiana, and Glenn Guyer of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; stepson, Allen (Brandy) Guyer of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and she had recently become a great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Guyer, whom she married June 2, 1956, and who died May 4, 1987; her stepdaughter, Grace Fogelman; and a great-grandson.

The family suggests any memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
