Glenna Rae Davenport 1943-2026
WARREN — Glenna Rae Davenport, 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, passing away peacefully in her sleep at home. She had been diagnosed the previous year with a terminal heart condition and was determined to live her remaining life to the fullest.
Born in Oklahoma, her family moved to California when Glenna was very young. Raised on a cattle ranch, she learned many of life’s most important lessons from her parents and carried them with her throughout her life. She graduated from Corcoran High School, where she developed lifelong friendships and was referred to as the brightest light and voice of their class. She was a bank officer and small business owner.
Glenna is survived by her husband of 25 years, Rick, and was the proudest mom of two daughters, Carolyn and Jane, whom she taught the importance of hard work, self-sufficiency and a selfless concern for others, which she demonstrated as a hospice volunteer while living in Michigan. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Raised Baptist, she was strong in her faith and loved her family deeply. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time wherever she unpacked her suitcase. Hiking through portions of the Alps and backpacking in western Pennsylvania were not daunting to her at all. An avid cruiser, she also liked ballooning, flying in small planes, motorcycle riding and playing volleyball with kids half her age.
Home was wherever she laid her head. Her granddaughter Sofia put it this way: “She was like another mom, funny and making the best snacks. She made her house feel like a home. The familiar scent of freshly lit cigarettes and the comfort of her warm embrace will be missed. Rest easy, Annie (her nickname for Glenna), I’ll be looking for you in every beautiful sky I see.”
She did not wish any viewing or public burial service, instead wanting a more private and simple family get-together.
