Rose-Marie Dailey 1929-2026
GIRARD — Rose-Marie Dailey, 96, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Heritage Manor.
Rose-Marie was born June 1, 1929, in Masury, a daughter to the late Andrew and Rose Mate Genetta.
She was a proud 1947 graduate of Girard High School and remained a lifelong Girard resident. She was introduced to her husband, Jack, whom she married April 15, 1950, and went on to raise three beautiful children.
Rose-Marie worked for 40 years as an office manager for physicians, greeting every patient as they came in the door and remembering every name and address she ever came across.
Family, friends and her faith were what she centered her life on. She sent cards for every occasion and loved calling all her family to sing them “Happy Birthday” with her beautiful voice on their special days. She loved attending family celebrations far and wide and enjoyed many travels with her husband, Jack.
She was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard, and was a part of the Catholic Women’s Club and other committees. She enjoyed bus trips with friends, cheering on her beloved Notre Dame, block parties on Lincoln Avenue and making every holiday and birthday for her family perfect. She was the ultimate event planner.
Rose-Marie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathleen Rose Gacsal; son-in-law, Thomas C. Smith; daughter-in-law, Kim Dailey; along with seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and siblings, Rose-Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Dailey; her son, Mark Dailey; and her daughter, Colleen Smith.
We know that this reunification in heaven was a joyous celebration.
Private services will be held for the family, with a celebration of life planned for the summer.
Rose-Marie will be laid to rest in Girard City Cemetery.
