Michael P. Fee 1953-2026
NORFOLK, Va. — It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Fee, who departed this life on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 72.
Born on Dec. 8, 1953, in Munich, Germany, Mike lived a life marked by his great love of Christ and his family, service to his country and dedication to his church.
Mike proudly served six years in the United States Navy as a nuclear electrician onboard the USS Nimitz, where he was honored to be one of the original plank owners of the ship. His commitment and skill in his field laid the foundation for his later endeavors.
After his esteemed naval service, Mike channeled his expertise into founding and operating Fee’s Electrical Service Inc., based in Portsmouth, Virginia. He ran his business with his wife, son, and his friend of 42 years, Ken Hannas. Fee’s was grounded in Christian values, and through Mike’s work, he became a respected figure in the community, known for his integrity and professionalism, spanning 37 years.
A man of varied interests, Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying the tranquility and challenge of nature. Traditional archery was a passion of his, practicing it as well as teaching it to his son, daughter and his grandson. Mike was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, win or lose. Beyond his personal pursuits, he found immense joy in coaching his son’s baseball team and was a steadfast supporter of his daughter’s Girl Scout troop, always encouraging their dreams and ambitions.
Mike was a devoted servant of his faith, serving as a long-standing deacon and elder at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church in Suffolk, Virginia. His commitment to his church and its congregation was unwavering, reflecting his deep spirituality and compassion for others. He had profound love and devotion for the word of God. His loyalty to the assignments the Lord gave him transformed the lives of many.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Patti Jo Fee; his son, York Fee, and daughter-in-law, Tara, along with their children, Maevyn and Bodie; and his daughter, Taylor Fee Novinger, and son-in-law, Brad, with their children, Garrett and Claire. Mike is also survived by his brother, Rex Fee, and sister-in-law, Cathy; his nieces, Taryn Jajcinovic, and her husband, P.J., with their children, Clayton and Kai, and Carly Fee, with her daughter, McKynlee.
Preceded in death by his parents, William T. Fee and Edith Fee, Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and dedication that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to the Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church Deacons Fund, ensuring that Mike’s spirit of generosity continues to touch lives.
