Mary Grace Aurandt 1955-2026
POLAND — Mary Grace Aurandt, 70, passed peacefully into eternal rest Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Mary Grace was born Nov. 2, 1955, in Youngstown, to the late James C. and Grace Louise Butler Stevenson. From a young age, she carried a quiet strength, a generous heart and a deep love for family that defined her life.
She was a proud 1973 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and went on to earn her master’s degree from Youngstown State University — an achievement that reflected her dedication to learning and service. Mary Grace devoted more than 30 years to the health care field, serving her community with compassion and professionalism. Her career included work at Southside Hospital, St. Elizabeth Main Campus and St. Joseph Warren Hospital, where she eventually retired. As director of medical education, she worked closely with physician residency programs and touched countless lives through her mentorship, leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Above all else, Mary Grace was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She found joy in crafting thoughtful gifts for those she loved, took pride in her Irish heritage and remained active in her community as a Republican Precinct Committee member.
Mary Grace will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and the warmth she brought into every room. Her infectious smile and unforgettable laugh lifted spirits and made everyone feel welcome. She gave freely of herself and loved deeply, leaving an imprint that will never fade.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Robert L. Aurandt, whom she married April 10, 1999; her children, Daniel (Tia) Aurandt of Kent and Sara Griffin of Niles; her cherished grandchildren, Natalia Griffin, Emelia Aurandt and Elliott Aurandt; her brother, James (Jim) Stevenson of O’Fallon, Illinois; her sister-in-law, Gretchen Stevenson of Wooster; her nieces, Kelly (Paul) Olsen, Laura (Jason) Palmero and Christine Stevenson; her nephew, Michael Stevenson; and nine cousins, Kiersten Kirk, Kim Kirk, Susan Butler, Jim Butler, Terese Butler, George Jamison, Barbara Jamison, Jack Jamison and Maryann Jamison.
In addition to her parents, Mary Grace was preceded in death by her brother, John (Pat) Stevenson, and her sister-in-law, Anne Stevenson.
Family and friends may call 3 to 4:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. A memorial service celebrating Mary Grace’s life will follow at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Don Scott Monaco officiating.
Interment will take place in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
