Jean B. Frye 1926-2026
HOWLAND — Jean B. Frye, 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.
She was born May 3, 1926, in Warren, to the late Ercel and Don Bronson. Jean was a proud graduate of Leavittsburg High School, Class of 1944.
Jean was an avid golfer and was especially proud to have started the Chip and Putt program in Trumbull County, encouraging generations to enjoy the game she loved. She was also an active member of the Warren Junior Crafts and the Warren Garden Club, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Frye; her brother, Robert Bronson; her son, Ronald Frye; and her grandson, Michael Howell.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Jacalyn Frye Sladovic; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Frye; her grandchildren, Michael B. Sladovic and Rhonda Reed; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of joy in her life.
The family would like to thank Shepherd of the Valley-Howland for its extended care for five-plus years and also Buckeye Hospice for its compassionate care.
A brief graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Pineview Cemetery, 4049 Youngstown Road SE, Warren, OH 44484; all are welcome.
