James W. Shamrock 1957-2026

WARREN — James W. Shamrock of Warren passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, Jan. 4, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

James was born on Jan. 27, 1957, in Warren, a son of the late John William and Martha Blicka Shamrock.

James attended college and also worked for many years at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta, alongside his father. Later, James had an extensive career working with the office of the Trumbull County Dog Warden for 30 years.

Outside of work, James was a sports enthusiast. He was a die-hard Guardians Baseball fan and also faithfully cheered on Notre Dame during football season. James enjoyed playing baseball and biking and was an avid backgammon player. He was also extremely handy when it came to cars. One of his favorite hobbies was building an MG car from scratch. James was also a loyal patron of Perkins, Bob Evans, Red Lobster and Café 422. Most of all James cherished his family and friends and enjoyed the company of those he loved. He will be deeply missed.

James will always be remembered by his children, James (Genevieve) Shamrock of Warren and Kelly Shamrock of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Grayson Shamrock and Gianna Gania; sister, Joyce Yendrek of Painesville; sister-in-law, Kathy Shamrock of Warren; and many loved friends and family members.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, John Paul Shamrock.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to James from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.

A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in James’ name, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
