Gary W. Crick 1941-2026
CLARION, Pa. — Gary W. Crick, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1941, at home in Cherry Run, to the late Kenneth W. and Dorothy M. Rush Crick.
Mr. Crick grew up in Rimersburg and graduated from Union Joint High School, where he excelled in mathematics and was active in the band, playing the trumpet. He then moved to Warren in 1963.
Gary continued his education, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in education from California State University and a Master of Education degree from Westminster College.
He taught mathematics at Warren Western Reserve High School from its inception in 1966 until 1990, where he was active in the student council activities and an ardent Raider fan, attending every school event. Gary also taught at West Junior High School and Western Reserve High School until he retired in 1993.
He was a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar in 1972 and 1973, which recognizes excellence in teaching. Mr. Crick was a member of the Warren Educational Association and a lifetime member of the National Education Association and the Ohio Education Association since his retirement. Gary was also a member of the Trumbull and Ohio Retired Teachers Associations. Mr. Crick took pride in his teaching career and always treated every student the same. He brought so much positivity and strived for success. Mr. Crick kept in contact with numerous students over the years and always rooted for them.
He is survived by his sister, Penny Kunselman, and her husband, Robert S., of Strattanville; and two nephews, Derek Kunselman and his wife, Danielle, and Robert N. Kunselman and his wife, Juanita. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home has the distinct honor of serving the family and cremation care has been entrusted to the RV Burns Crematorium Inc.
