Thomas D. Mulhall 1940-2025

HUBBARD — Thomas D. Mulhall, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Tuesday Dec. 9, 2025, at Hospice of Valley in Poland.

Thomas was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Margaret Driscoll Mulhall.

He was a 1957 graduate of Hubbard High School and later graduated from Riggs Lemar Barber School in Akron.

Tom was a very generous and kind man, always helping others. He enjoyed listening to Christian radio programming, sharing information and skills with family and friends, gardening and landscaping, golfing, fishing, camping and family beach vacations.

Tom was also a very spiritual man, finding comfort in studying the Bible and sharing Our Daily Bread devotional booklets. When asked, “How are you?” Tom responded, “Better than I deserve,” pointing to God’s abundant grace, goodness and blessings in his life.

Tom was a barber at Vince & Joe’s Barber Shop in Hubbard, and worked at General Motors in the maintenance department and was a line worker for 39 1/2 years, retiring in 2005.

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and a member of The Brotherhood of the Broom at General Motors UAW Local 1112.

Tom was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Darmstadt, Germany, as a communications lineman and driver.

His wife, the former Judith A. Wittenauer, whom he married Aug. 3, 1963, passed away Oct. 8, 2019.

Tom will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family, his children, Anne M. (Michael) Tobey, Timothy C. (Susie) Mulhall and Jennifer S. (David) Goldberg, all of Hubbard; six grandchildren, Kate, Kara, Anthony, Kristin, Michael and Jacob; and four great-grandchildren, Logan, Hallie, Sophia and Bret.

He also leaves his siblings, Patricia Livingston of North Jackson, Diane (David) Adams of Chapin, South Carolina, and Joseph C. (Caroline) Mulhall of Mineral Ridge; and his in-laws, Jackie Erb, Joyce (Larry) Richards, Jeff Wittenauer and Jim Wittenauer.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; his in-laws, Andrew and Anne Drobney Wittenauer; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Livingston and Donald P. Erb.

There will be services at noon Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, with calling hours 10 a.m. to noon, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Thomas will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
