Harry E. Elser 1945-2025

He was born July 16, 1945, in Warren, a son of the late Harry V. Elser Jr. and the late Margaret Funk Owens.

Harry actively served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy as a mechanic on various aircraft supporting wartime mission efforts until he separated with an honorable discharge.

He was a self-employed business owner but most recently was employed as a truck driver. Harry proudly served as a longtime member of Niles American Legion Post 106, where he supported local veterans and their families.

He mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and watching the Cleveland Browns.

Harry is survived by his longtime significant other, Barbara Beighley; children, Dana (Michael) Marro, Michael (Christina) Elser and Jason Elser; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Phillip, Ronald and Arthur Elser.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at Westview Cemetery, Youngstown Conneaut Road (state Route 7), Vernon Township.

A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Jan. 17 at Maranatha Church, Cortland.
