Nick F. Sponsler 1967-2025

Nick was born April 5, 1967, in Lorain, the son of the late Robert Sponsler Sr. and Shirley Hamrick Sponsler.

He worked in construction for many years and was a member of the Cortland Moose Lodge. Nick was a loving father to his daughter, Samantha, and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He leaves his daughter, Samantha Grigg of Grand Fork, North Dakota; his mother, Shirley Sponsler of Cortland; a brother, Robert Sponsler Jr. of Cortland; two sisters, Martha Severt of Newton Falls and Cynthia Smith of Bristol; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Robert Sponsler Sr., Nick was preceded in death by two sisters, Robin Wells and Retha O’Kernick.

A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, in the chapel at Johnstown Cemetery.
