Manie C. Ash 1964-2025
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Deacon Manie Curtis Ash, 61, departed this life 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Oak Point Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center, Detroit, Michigan, following complications of an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1964, in Warren, the son of George and Ollie Mae Wilson Ash, residing in Michigan for 32 years.
Deacon Manie was owner / operator of Manie’s Car Service for 25 years before retiring in 2022. He also worked as a nurse’s assistant for Health Solutions Home Healthcare.
He was a 1984 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, where he was a standout football player.
He was a member of the Faith Restoration Ministries, where he was a deacon, served in the transportation ministry and enjoyed music, movies, shopping and sports.
He leaves to mourn one son, Raphael Mercer-Ash of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Ms. Kennedy Overstreet-Ash of Detroit; two brothers, Alonzo Ball of Warren and Michael Ash of Southfield; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy J. Redd of Howland and Ms. Jackie Ball-Lowery of Niles; two grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jerry Ball, Darnell Ball and James “Bubble” Ball; and one sister, Mrs. Barbara Daniels.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, with calling hours 11 a.m. to noon, at Restoration Christian Fellowship Church, Warren.
Arrangements of comfort were by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home, Warren.
