Johanna K. Gramelt 1942-2025

Joanne was born March 10, 1942, in Warren, a daughter of Michael G. Sr. and Elizabeth Holenchak Kanche.

She was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary School in Warren and later graduated from Sharon Regional School of Nursing.

Jo was a registered animal technician at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital and later a registered nurse working in the Geriatric Psych Unit at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

Jo was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Vienna and attended Guiding Light Presbyterian Church in Girard.

Joanne will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family: her husband, Richard H. Gramelt, whom she married Aug. 12, 1981; and her children, Patricia (Russ) Bryant of Sandusky, Richard M. (Colette) Gramelt of Sheridan, Oregon, Philip (Kelly) Dean of Cortland, John S. (Laura) Gramelt of Girard, Elizabeth Dean of Lordstown, James (Theresa) Dean of Nashville, Tennessee, William P. (Jen) Gramelt of Astoria, Oregon, John Dean of Naples, Florida, and Daniel Dean of Warren; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jo also leaves her siblings, Michael (Peggy) Kanche Jr. of New Mexico, Karen (Paul) Racz of Howland and William (Linda) Kanche of Warren.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Shane Bryant; and her brother, John Kanche.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, with calling hours 2 to 4 p.m., at Guiding Light Presbyterian Church in Girard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, P.O. Box 66, Vienna, OH 44473; or Guiding Light Presbyterian Church, 890 Churchill Road, Girard, OH 44420.

She will be laid to rest in Vienna Township Cemetery.
