George Martin 1941-2025

WARREN — George “Vern” Martin, 84, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.

He was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Washington, Pa., a son of Delmar and Mable DeWitt Martin.

Vern was a graduate of Bristolville High School and selflessly served in the United States Army. He married his wife, Marlene, on Dec. 13, 1980; they spent 41 wonderful years together until her passing Oct. 2, 2021.

Vern was a funny man with some of the corniest jokes you would ever hear. He absolutely loved fishing; he and his late grandson, Jeremey, loved to get out and fish together. He loved his shows like “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Waltons.” He enjoyed watching the Browns play football and old Westerns. He spent his Sundays watching the Gaither Vocal Band.

Vern will be missed dearly by his daughters, Gina (Casper) Quintanilla of Texas, Christine (Kevin) Hatten of Arkansas, Belinda Collier of Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua and Lauren Quintanilla, Erica Campos, Anthony, Zachary and Nicholas Blok; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy (Bob) Pinti; and brothers, Larry (Linda) Martin and Kenny (Debbie) Martin.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; a son, Mike; a grandson, Jeremey; and two sisters, Evelyn and Lee.

Calling hours will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, with a funeral service beginning at noon, and burial to follow at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum.

Services were entrusted to Selby Funeral Home.
