Shirley M. Padilla 1938-2025

She was born June 23, 1938 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of Tony

and Bertha Collins Stephens.

She retired in 2006, after 36 years of faithful service, as a quality control inspector at General Motors Lordstown.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and enjoyed embroidering, party planning and growing flowers. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Juan “John” Padilla, whom she married April 7, 2005; daughter, Esther (Joe) Newell; sons, Anthony (Kelly) Nickels Sr., Robert Padilla and Anthony Padilla; daughter-in-law, Linda Nickels; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Delmar L. Nickels; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Holbrook, Doris Butler and Hazel Evans; and four brothers, Junior Stephens, Bill Stephens, Charles Stephens and Jimmy Stephens.

Honoring her wishes, there are no services.

Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
