Mary Lou Hamilton 1940-2025

NILES — Mary Lou Hamilton, 85, of Niles, and formerly of Warren, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at the Suites at Continuing Healthcare of Niles.
She was born March 25, 1940, in Warren, a daughter of the late John J. Ellis and the late Mary A. Stall Ellis.
She attended Warren G. Harding High School and worked as a cook at Buena Vista for 25 years.
Mary Lou was a lifelong member of SS. Mary and Joseph Parish. She was also a member of the Warren Moose Lodge 186, Warren VFW and an early member of APA pool. Mary Lou loved sports, whether it was watching baseball, NASCAR or football, especially the former Harding Panthers. She liked to play poker, travel to the Outer Banks and animals — but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Brian B. Hamilton of Niles, George E. Hamilton Jr. of Warren and Robert J. (Morgan) Hamilton of Boardman; grandson, George E. Hamilton III; brother, Anthony Ellis of Warren; and first cousins, Elizabeth Loreto of Howland and Alex Stall of Rootstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George E. Hamilton Sr.; and brothers, Alexander and John Ellis.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Deacon Robert Simmerly will officiate. Friends may call from noon until service time on Monday, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park, Warren.
