Lucy N. Ris 1925-2025

WARREN — Lucy N. Ris, 100, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at Gillette Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Warren, a daughter of Lawrence J. and Blanche O. Williams Quiggle.

Lucy was a member of SCOPE and the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning and playing bingo.

Lucy worked at Copperweld Steel; during WWII, she helped make shell casings for the war effort.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Cook of Warren and Joseph Phillips of Austintown; daughter, Martha (Terry) Marvin of Leavittsburg; grandchildren, Mike, Tracie, Daniel (Sam), Michelle (Shaun) and Terrance (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Alex (Kristi), Tiffany (Jake), Cassidy (Zack), Owen, Jeseca, Veronica, Daniel and Breanna; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Ris; son, Robert Cook; daughter, Mary Phillips; and brothers, George, Donald, Emery, Robert, Carl and Harry Quiggle.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where friends may call 1 to 2 p.m.

Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
