Elizabeth E. Maynard 1956-2025
NEWTON FALLS — Elizabeth E. Apple Maynard, 69, passed away peacefully into eternal rest Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Community Skilled Nursing Home in Warren.
She was born Jan. 4, 1956, in Ravenna, a daughter of the late Gerald E. Apple and Arlene Hilliard Apple.
She married Raymond R. Maynard on May 13, 1978; they enjoyed the past 47 years of marriage together. She lived in Newton Falls for 36 years and was formerly of Garrettsville. Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree in special education from Kent State University. She worked at Youngstown City Schools as a teacher for 25 years, retiring in 2007, substituting for several years following retirement.
Elizabeth was a very active member of Newton Falls Methodist Church. She enjoyed scrapbooking, listening to music and singing in the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald E. and Arlene Hillard Apple, and one sister, Marla Apple Hudak.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond R. Maynard of Newton Falls; her two sons, Raymond Ross Maynard of Warren and Kirk A. Maynard of Pennsylvania; her sister, Beverly Musgrove of Garrettsville; three brothers, Gerald (Jay) E. Apple and Mark Apple, both of Garrettsville, and Kent K. Apple of Hampton, Virginia.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon, with funeral services immediately following, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Newton Falls Methodist Church, with Pastors Tom Snyder and Bruce Irish officiating.
