Clifford James Grossman 1948-2025

WARREN — Clifford James Grossman, 77, embraced eternal peace Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born Aug. 3, 1948, in Warren, the son of James Howard and Marian Fortney Grossman.

A 1966 graduate of Leavittsburg High School, and a 1984 graduate of Youngstown State, Cliff retired from the stamping plant at General Motors-Lordstown after 30 years. He took the opportunity to pursue his passion for golf, dancing and working around the house. He loved to boat the coastal waterways of South Carolina, while taking in the sights and society of the South.

Precious memories of Cliff live on with his sister, Jean (Lester) Auman of Cochrane, Wisconsin; and his brother, Ken (Kelly) Grossman of San Diego, California.

Cliff’s signature was his warm outgoing personality, which included a deep streak of playfulness. Along with Laurie, they could light up a room. His friendships tended to be lifelong, especially his best friend, Gary Fellenger, “Goaty.” Cliff’s concern and empathy for the friends and neighbors he encountered through life was organic and completely natural. He was a good man.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife, Laraine Shaw Beach Grossman, who passed Jan. 16, 2025; his infant daughter, Kelly Grossman; his son, Bret A. Grossman; and his brother, Harry E. Grossman.

Cliff and Laurie were originally married in 1969 and reunited again in 2021. Sparks flew, and they remarried in 2023. While they both had grown and gone their own way in life, their reunion was joyous and their remaining time together was filled with comradery and happiness.

A celebration of life gathering will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Sorrento’s Italian Restaurant, for both Laurie and Cliff. To honor Cliff’s great life, do a good deed for someone and remember Cliff and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

Arrangements are entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, 330-394-6200. Dedicated to serving your loved ones. This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent to www.statonborowskifuneralhome.com.
