Charles E. Markley 1955-2025

WARREN — Charles Edward Markley, more commonly known as “Chip,” passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 7, 2025, at White Oak Manor in Warren.

Chip was born Oct. 5, 1955, in Warren, the son of the late Charles Elmer and Beatrice Tommer Markley.

Chip was a 1973 graduate of Southington High School and worked as a truck driver for several different companies until his retirement in 1996.

Chip was an avid sports fan, who loved his football and was a true Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the Cleveland Guardians.

Chip was an animal lover and adored his cat, Goldie.

Chip loved his family and was so proud of his nieces and nephews; he was Santa for them at Christmastime and enjoyed hearing about their many successes.

Chip’s memory and life will be cherished by his wife, Elizabeth Jordan Markley, whom he married on May 15, 1993. Chip also leaves a daughter, Danyell Stewart of Youngstown; five grandchildren; niece and friend, Kimberly Hamilton; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. He is also remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Malone and Lori Malone of Howland, Jim Manson and Jackie Manson, also of Howland, and Bill Jordan and Barbara Jordan of Bethesda, Maryland.

Besides his parents, Chip was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hamilton, and a brother, Carl Sanborn.

The family held a private celebration of his life on Oct. 8, 2025, at Salvatore’s restaurant.

A memorial service celebrating Charles’ life will be 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

Friends may call 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
