Betty Parker 1937-2025
LAKELAND, Fla. — Betty Parker, 88, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025.
She was born in Bluff Dale, Texas, to the late Marion and Lola Pritchard Blanton.
She lived a beautiful, dignified life filled with love, service and devotion. A woman with a big heart, she cared deeply for others both as a nurse for 43 years and as a devoted mother of five. Originally from Granbury, Texas, Betty was always proud of her Southern roots.
She served as an ensign junior grade in the U.S. Navy, where she met her husband, Robert E. Parker (1942-2005), while stationed in Philadelphia, Pa. After their service, Betty and Robert settled in Ohio to raise their family.
As the matriarch of a growing brood, Betty’s kindness, humor and steady presence shaped generations.
She is survived by her children, Bobbie Harney, Kelly Prokop, Dawn Brotherton, Candi Parker and Mike Parker; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Although she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort knowing she is walking with the Lord — and that her hair is red again.
Per Betty’s wishes, there are no calling hours or services.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.
