Samuel Webster 1941-2025

CHAMPION — Samuel “Pat” Webster, 84, passed away peacefully, Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born May 17, 1941, in Clarksburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Violet Mae Torch Menendez. Pat later moved to Warren, where he met and married his lifelong partner, Mary Brekoski, on Oct. 20, 1962. Together, they shared nearly 63 years of marriage.

Pat proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sperry before beginning a career with General Motors.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing on Lake Erie, deer hunting with friends and family, and tending to his garden. A self-taught gourmet chef, Pat began a cherished family tradition in 1968 by making and bottling his own wine. Above all, his greatest joy was gathering his family around the dinner table on Sunday afternoons.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary B. Webster of Champion; son, Patrick (Michelle) Webster of Frazeysburg; daughter, Susan (Phil) Aliberti of Warren; sister, Saundra Starkey of W.Va.; grandchildren, Nicole (Paul) Vikan, Faith (Shayne) Jenkins, Philip Aliberti, Patrick (Christina) Webster, Amanda (Brian) Bees, Michael Webster, Joshua “Jolene” Webster and Christopher Webster; great-grandchildren, Liam Jenkins, Colt Jenkins and Logan Bees; and a handful of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Pat was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Ann Webster, and sister, Shirley Ann Rollison.

Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley in gratitude for the wonderful care given to Pat.

Arrangements were entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
