Margaret E. Chadman 1943-2025
NEWTON FALLS — Margaret Elizabeth Chadman, 82, of Newton Falls, gained her wings Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Kittanning, Pa., the daughter of the late Joe and Florance Hartzell Crissman.
She graduated from Knox Keystone High School in Knox, Pa., where she excelled in sports, having received an award for Athlete of the Year.
She worked many jobs throughout her life, including being a switchboard operator, Fashion Bug, Kmart and Dollar General.
She married the love of her life, Stanley Chadman on Sept. 2, 1961. Together they shared 64 years of marriage. They enjoyed square dancing (Pars & Squares), camping and Friday night dinners with friends.
Maggie enjoyed sewing, garage sales, lunch with friends and was always looking for something for everyone. She never meant a stranger. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always at their games and performances, cheering them on.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Chadman. She was a loving mother to her sons, Steve (Brenda) Chadman of Windham and Bryan (Carol) Chadman of Cortland; a proud grandma to Corey Chadman, Raquel (Justin) Hathaway, Lacey (Kenneth) Chadman, Kayla (Cesar) Ventura and Amber (David) McMinn; and a proud great-grandma to Caleb, Sydney, Dylan, Deegan, Cesar, Alexander, Braiden and Cambri. She is also survived by her sister, Patty Cochran, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Florance Crissman; and siblings, Laura Kahle, Mary Shettler, Jenny Dittman and Ed Crissman.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Steve Garces will officiate. Cremation will then follow and her ashes will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery at a later date.
