Leona M. Shontz 1933-2025
GIRARD — Leona M. Shontz, 92, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
She was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Girard, a daughter of Raymond E. and Cora Hughes Richards.
She was employed as an LPN at Northside Hospital.
Survivors include her children, Deborah Duer of Vienna, Donald G. Shontz Jr. of Miamisburg and Mark Shontz Sr. of Lordstown; sister, Sarah Hendrickson of Bristolville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Shontz Sr.; and one sister.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, with calling hours from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
