JoAnn L. Ward 1945-2025

Jo Ann was born July 17, 1945, in Monongahela, Pa., the daughter of Katherine Gates and George Kline Jr.

She was a 1963 graduate of Monongahela High School. She married Gregory F. Ward on Dec. 2, 1967, and was happily married for nearly 58 years.

Jo Ann worked as a phlebotomist at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for 25 years and was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-St. Stephen Campus in Niles.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, decorating and watching the Steelers, Pirates, Buckeyes and her grandchildren’s high school and college sporting events.

Family was always Jo Ann’s top priority, and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandma.

Jo Ann will be deeply missed by her husband, Gregory F. Ward Sr. of Niles; son, Gregory F. Ward Jr. and his wife, Candice of McDonald; daughter, Michelle Smith of Reynoldsburg; and her four grandchildren, Rachel and Megan Ward, and Gavin and Marley Smith.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her brother, George Scott Kline, and sister, Martha Lee Jurovcik.

Per Jo Ann’s request, cremation has taken place and services will be private.

Inurnment will take place in Niles Union Cemetery.
