Joan Thomas 1936-2025
CORTLAND — Joan Thomas, 89, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at Cortland Healthcare Center.
She was born July 7, 1936, in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles Joseph Gannett and Rose Savage Gadd.
Survivors include her children, Vicky Whitt, Lisa Lynn and Donald A. Thomas Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carol Finney, Judy Gruber, Peggy Gadd and Bobby Gadd.
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Richard Earl Thomas; one grandson; one sister; and three brothers.
Services were private with burial in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
Arrangements were by Lane Funeral Homes, Warren.
