Jeffrey D. Mullett 1959-2025

WARREN — Jeffery David Mullett, 66, passed away peacefully at 5:19 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at the Louis Stokes Veterans Hospital, Cleveland, following a long illness.

Jeffery was born Aug. 9, 1959 in Warren, the son of Dayne Lee and Dorothy Jean Shaffer Mullett.

He was a 1977 graduate of Howland High School and attended Kent State University, Trumbull Branch to study automotive engineering. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church of Cortland. Jeffery served in the U.S. Air Force from December 1982 until December 2008 and retired as an E-7, master sergeant.

When his sons were younger, the family was active in the Boy Scouts programs and the Warren Junior Military Band, where Jeff frequently called weekly bingo.

Jeffery was employed by the city of Warren in the engineering department from 1985 until 2022, when he transferred to the water department. He retired from the city in 2024.

Jeffery met Helena Janis in August 1987, and they were married Nov. 18, 1989.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Justin Ryan (Heather) Mullett of Struthers, Edward James Mullett of Warren and Sean Anthony Mullett of Cortland; three grandchildren, Jaden, Mason and Jasmine; and his furry companions, a mini-dachshund, Maxxi, and a mini-Aussiedoodle, Abby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At Jeffrey’s request, there will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be announced by his family in the near future for his relatives and friends to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Wounded Warriors or the Birds in Flight Sanctuary, 8095 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield.
