James D. Simpson 1980-2025

WARREN — James D. Simpson, 45, entered into eternal rest Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1980, in Warren, the son of Herman B. Simpson and Cynthia Paulette Ellis Simpson.
A 1999 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, James earned a football scholarship to Temple University, where he was known as the strongest man on the team for bench pressing over 500 pounds.
James learned the trade of carpentry and eventually opened his own business, JD Simpson Construction LLC. He loved building decks, porches and fences. He found great joy in cooking, especially grilling, anything he could get his hands on, from steaks to ribs to veggies. He loved listening to country music. He was James Taylor’s biggest fan. His favorite song was “September Rain.” When relaxing, he enjoyed the company of his nephews, who called him Uncle Jamo.
Precious memories of James live on with his father, Herman B. Simpson of Warren; his mother, Cynthia Paulette Simpson of Columbus; his beloved wife, Tia Madison Simpson, whom he married July 24, 2015; his daughters, Shariel Fambro of Toledo and Cherish Parks of Warren; three sisters, Melissa of Girard, and Jennifer and Kelly Simpson, both of Columbus; his brother, Trevor Simpson of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of friends and family who loved James and think of him fondly.
Services for James are private.
