Charles W. Hudak 1937-2025

WARREN — Charles William “Charlie” Hudak, 87, passed away Monday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Charlie was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Warren, a son of John and Anna Danko Hudak.
Charlie was a 1956 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. In 1958, he was drafted into the United States Army. Serving for two years, Charlie earned the rank of specialist while operating armored tanks. He was honorably discharged for his service.
Upon returning home, Charlie worked for Federal Machine and Welding for 10 years. Following his apprenticeship in Illinois, he began work for Reactive Metals, where he stayed for six months. The opportunity then arose for Charlie to take a machinist position at Packard Electric, where he would work for 32 years until his retirement in 1997.
Outside of work, Charlie was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing at his camp with family and friends. Charlie also enjoyed golfing and was fortunate to have made a hole-in-one at Forest Oaks Golf Course in 1999. He cherished the memories of traveling with his wife, going on cruise vacations and many casino trips to Las Vegas.
Charlie was a member of St. William Parish in Champion, where he had many friends. Most of all, he lovingly supported his children and grandchildren. Whether it was being together at the camp or at home, Charlie cherished time spent with those he loved, and he will be deeply missed.
Charlie will always be remembered by his wife of 29 years, Sandra M. Ulicny Hudak of Warren; children, Theresa (Steve) Craiger of Bristolville, Denise Redman of Bazetta and Charles J. (Tracie) Hudak of Bristolville; stepson, Stephen (Susan) Arambasick of Columbus; grandchildren, Ashley Redman of Columbus, Allison Redman of Bazetta, Grace Arambasick of Champion, and El, Mercy and Frances Arambasick of Columbus; and his faithful granddog, Ace.
Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn Hudak; brothers, Michael, George, Joseph and John Hudak; sister, Annabelle Miller; and stepson, Mark Arambasick.
Family and friends may pay their respects 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, and 10 to 10:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at St. William Catholic Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.
A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Stephen Agostino as celebrant.
Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta Township, where military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
Charlie’s family would like to sincerely thank the Champion Fire Department for its lift assistance over the last year, but especially for its compassionate care and willingness to help. Additional thanks go to Charlie’s caregiver, Kelly, for taking excellent care of him for two years and to Ohio Living Hospice for its care not only toward Charlie but to the family as well.
