Charles C. Clark 1933-2025
ITHACA, N.Y. — Charles Clayton Clark passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
He was born May 7, 1933, to Luella Mae Britton Clark and George Theodore Clark.
Charles grew up in Andover Township, Ashtabula County, and later resided in Girard. Charles also lived in North Palm Beach, Florida, until 2002, when he moved to Ithaca, New York, to be closer to family.
In 1952, Charles joined the United States Navy. After serving our country, he suffered a shipboard injury and was honorably discharged.
Charles married Beatrice R. Clark in 1954, affectionately known as Bea, who became his beloved wife of 70 years.
Charles started as a truck driver at the Hearn Paper Company in Youngstown and then worked in warehouse operations until he retired after more than 30 years.
Brother Charles was a Master Mason in the Freemasons and served in several Masonic offices. He was a member of William Farr Lodge 672 in Girard, Copper Penny 778 in Vienna, Nippising 420 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, and Caroline 681 in Slaterville Springs, New York.
For many years, Charles could be seen proudly riding his gold scooter and wearing his red fez hat in parades with the Northeast Ohio Al Koran Shriners, doing fundraising for Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Charles enjoyed working on car engines and lawn mowers. Over the years, he acquired an eclectic collection of mechanics’ tools and power equipment. He also was skilled at home repairs and could tell you how to get a job done with less work and less money. Charles probably had every tool that his family and neighbors needed to borrow, and he eagerly responded with his helping hand.
Charles was very proud of his family and enjoyed listening to his three grandsons singing and playing guitar, keyboard and drums, especially when they played an old country favorite of his.
