Priscilla J. Gross 1940-2025

She was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the daughter of the late Chester Louis Pitt and Ruth Lessman Pitt.

Priscilla married the love of her life, Henry Clair Gross, on Sept. 9, 1961; and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. She had lived in Palmyra Township for 51 years and was formerly of Lake Milton. Priscilla was a waitress for Pizza Hut in Ravenna for over 10 years. She was a Mount Pleasant High School graduate, Class of 1958.

She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching all sports — especially college sports — basketball and her favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Priscilla took great joy in attending the kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events.

Memories of Priscilla will be carried on by her loving family: her husband, Henry C. Gross of Palmyra Township; her two daughters, Gloria Lichty of Palmyra Township and Cheryl (Jerry) Wiseman of Lake Milton; her sister, Patricia Lopes of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; her brother, Cary (Gloria) Pitt of Canfield; her six grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Alexandra, Dannielle, Timothy and Rane; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carolyn L. Gross; one brother, William Pitt; and one granddaughter, Rachel Lichty.

Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2025, at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, with Pastor Jeff Griffs officiating. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Cremation will follow the service. She will be laid to rest in Palmyra West Cemetery in Diamond. The family asks that all donations please be made to Crossroads Hospice, 10810 E. 45th St., Suite 300, Tulsa, OK 74146.
