Lucille E. Evans 1925-2025
CORTLAND — Lucille E. Evans, 100, known as “Lee,” formerly of Hubbard, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 28, 2025, at Ohio Living Lake Vista in Cortland.
Lucille was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Brookfield, a daughter of John Roy and Clara Landis Edwards.
She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1943.
She was a homemaker and Hubbard Township clerk, and for 24 years she was a supervisor at the Trumbull County Children Services Board, retiring in 1990.
Lucille was a former member of Central Christian Church of Hubbard and enjoyed golfing.
Her husband, George L. Evans Jr., whom she married July 19, 1946, passed away Aug. 30, 2001.
She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family: Terry Lee (Marilyn) Evans of Ottawa, Canada; Jane (Zoe) Evans-Viray of Solon; four grandchildren, Jessica (Pat) Shehan, Dr. George (Sofia) Evans, Ross (Darlene) Evans and Dr. Jake Lowry; and six great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her son-in-law, John C. Lowry of Hubbard; and sister-in-law, Barbara Evans of Lorain.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Elizabeth Lowry; and brothers, Reese, Harold, Erwin and John.
There will be a celebration of Lee’s life 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at the Lake Vista Club House, 303 N. Mecca St., Cortland, OH 44410.
Lucille will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
