Lois M. Cox 1960-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Lois Marie Cox, 65, passed away unexpectedly at 6:35 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic from a heart ailment.
Lois was born Aug. 18, 1960, in Scranton, Pa., and was lovingly raised from an early age by William and Mary Lewis. She was a graduate of Carbondale High School in Pennsylvania and dedicated more than 20 years of service as a plastics worker and quality control inspector at Dinesol Plastics in Niles before retiring.
Known for her kind and caring nature, Lois found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, playing video games on her tablet, camping, caring for animals and collecting candles. Above all, Lois treasured time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Lois is survived by her husband, David Wayne Cox, whom she married Jan. 14, 1997; her daughter, Christina Lynn Cox of Austintown; her stepson, David Cox of Florida; her stepdaughter, Julie (Michael) Price of Stow; three grandchildren, Braxton Fluharty, Robert Price and Hunter Price; and her sisters, Shirley Thomas and Jeanne Walsh, both of Scranton, Pa.
She was preceded by her parents, William and Mary Lewis, who raised her with
love; and a son, Jerry Edward Fluharty.
A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, in Kerr Cemetery.
