Larry M. Postlethwait Sr. 1948-2025

Born March 23, 1948, in Warren, he was the son of Leroy Albert Postlethwait and Francis Meredith Postlethwait.

He retired from WCI Steel in 2001 after 32 years.

He spent his free time enjoying his family, farming and cattle buying. His greatest passion was horse pulling with his champion horse, Bob.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Sue Stein Postlethwait, whom he married on July 12, 2000; his daughters, Melissa Ann (Glenn) Marshall and Penny Lynn (John) Lutton; sons, Larry Michael (Yevonne) Postlethwait Jr., Ronald William Hardman Jr. and Jason Robert (Jhovanna) Hardman; grandchildren, Erika Leigh (Jake) Johnstone, Amanda Mae (Dylan) Gallaugher, Tiffany Joanne (Jaryd) Faustino, Hanna Rose Hardman, Olivia Grace Hardman, Joseph Marsh, JoAnne Mae Postlethwait, Melanie Eva Tarin and Emily Zoe Tarin; great-grandchildren, Bailey Mae Gallaugher and Camdyn James Michael Gallaugher; brother, Robert “Shorty” Postlethwait, and sisters, Patricia Kuhmer and Debi (Randy) Holmes; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joanne Mae Kohler Postlethwait; his brother, Thomas Postlethwait; and his sisters, Cassandra “Cass” Postlethwait and Cheri (Dallas) Chumbley.

Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 North High St., Cortland. Funeral services will follow at noon.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery in Green Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) in his honor.
