Joann F. Peterson 1937-2025

Born July 29, 1937, Joann was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Hudak.

She married Carl A. Peterson Jr. on July 19, 1957, and they were married 68 years.

Joann loved to cook, camp and travel. Much of her free time was consumed by family activities. She loved a good conversation and prided herself on creating wonderful desserts and “secret” family-favored dishes. She always had a way of putting a smile on your face by expressing her witty humor.

Joann also worked at Trumbull Anesthesiology as a medical secretary; her eye for details in the small print was notable.

Joann is survived by her husband, Carl; four siblings, Joseph, Jack, Tom and Maryjane; four children, Judy Makosky, Carl Peterson III (Marcia), Susan McCurry and Daniel Peterson; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Margaret Hudak; parents- in-law, Carl and Alyce Peterson; sister, Donna Dobos; brother, Richard Hudak; brother-in-law, Eric Peterson; sister in-law, Gloria Sulek Hudak; and son-in-law, Joseph Makosky.

A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple St., Orwell, OH 44076, officiated by the Rev. Kevin McCaffrey.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at Paine Funeral Home Inc., 140 E. Main St., Orwell, OH 44076.
