Jerry Andrews 1941-2025

McDONALD — Jerry Andrews, 84, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland, with his family by his side.

Jerry was born April 5, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of the late Dorothy Andrews. He was a lifelong resident of McDonald.

After graduating from McDonald High School, he served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Jerry dedicated 22 years to a fulfilling career with US Steel, later retiring from LTV Steel. His work ethic and commitment were a testament to his character, reflecting the values he held dear throughout his life.

Jerry was not only hardworking, he was also deeply engaged in his local community. His commitment to public service was exhibited through his role as a precinct committeeman for McDonald for an impressive 50 years. He was a proud member of the Trumbull County Democratic Party.

Outside of his professional endeavors and community involvement, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His passion for fishing brought him solace and happiness. He was also an avid McDonald Blue Devils fan.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years, Lana Pauley Andrews, whom he married Nov. 4, 1961; his daughters, Vickie (Robert) Schmidt of Girard, Wendy (Christopher) Reardon of Johnstown and Tammy “Sam” (Jeffrey) Tait of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Stephen), James, Jennifer (Brian), Marcy (Chase), Daniel, Chloe (Cory) and Emily (Cole); and great-grandchildren, Emilia and Penelope.

Private services were held for the family.

Jerry was laid to rest in Girard City Cemetery.
