Jennifer Ann DeFoor 1948-2025

WARREN — Ms. Jennifer Ann DeFoor, entered into eternal rest at 12:07 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, following complications of an extended illness, surrounded by the love of her family.

Jennifer was born July 11, 1948, in Warren, the daughter of the late Robert C. DeFoor and the late June DeFoor Danage.

She was a 1966 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a 1968 graduate from the Licensed Practical Nurse diploma program at Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Before leaving for sunny California, she worked at Albert’s and Gillette nursing homes in Warren. In California, she was employed as a childcare worker at the Los Angeles County Children Services; at Vista Del Mar Residential Treatment Center for emotionally disturbed youth for 10 years; and as residential supervisor, from Aviva Family and Children Services for 15 years, retiring in 2017.

Right up to her illness, Sis. Jennifer was a faithful member of the Trinity Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. Darryl L. Rodgers. She was a loyal member of the Women’s Ministry; sang in the adult choir; and was a dedicated member of the culinary ministry. She assisted in Trinity’s youth tutoring program and Vacation Bible School. Jennifer had a smile that commanded a room and a heart that spewed love. She was affectionately known as Auntie “Bo.”

While in California, Jennifer enjoyed being in attendance watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and loved watching all professional tennis players on TV.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, buying designer purses and just staying busy.

She leaves to mourn two sisters, Ms. Judith A. Wilkins and Mrs. Jeffrey M. Frazier, both of Warren; two brothers, Brian L. (Kasandra) DeFoor of Haslet, Texas, and Steven A. DeFoor of Butler, Pa.; two stepbrothers, Robert (Karen) Danage of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Avery (Semone) Danage of Kent; four stepsisters, Ms. Lynne Danage McNeal of Warren, Mrs. Patricia (Leonard Jr.) Danage Dawson Holmes of Farrell, Pa., Ms. Cheryl Danage Dandridge of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Loretta (Freddie) Danage Smith of Waldorf, Maryland; one aunt, Mrs. Thelma DeFoor of Harrisburg, Pa.; and one uncle, Dr. William Kate Jr., residing in Mitchellville, Maryland; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving companion of 37 years, Marc Kestenbaum; her parents, and stepfather, Grover Danage; and three brothers, Charles E. Miller, Mitchell A. DeFoor and Robert Dante DeFoor.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at the Trinity Baptist Church, with calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m.

Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
