Irene N. Pruitt 1927-2025

WARREN — Irene Nettie Pruitt, 98, of Warren, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at her home.
She was born May 3, 1927, in Warren, a daughter of the late Crell M. and Bernice Bushnell Kayser.
She married Claude Earl Pruitt on June 5, 1952 and they spent 65 years together.
She was a 1946 graduate of Leavittsburg High School and was a wonderful homemaker. She was employed at multiple hair salons, including Hair Graphics and Tara Mia.
Irene was a member of the First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Leavittsburg homemakers’ extension club and was a band chaperone and track coach.
Irene enjoyed sewing, making close to 75 Christmas stockings for friends and family, and watching basketball of any sort. She and Claude attended the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. She liked skiing, going to the beach and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her three sons, Timothy (Linda) Pruitt of Warren, Neal (Shari Brandon) Pruitt of Woodstock, Georgia, and Keith (Angela) Pruitt of Warren; grandchildren, Lauren (Jordan) Mellott, Monique (Will) Prassas, Chase (Morgan) Pruitt, Cole Pruitt, Alec Pruitt, Trent Pruitt and Tyler Pruitt; great-grandchildren, Jordan Mellott Jr., Silas Mellott and Luke Mellott; and sister, Jackie Boggs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Pruitt; and sister, Louise Gleason.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where Pastor John Jaros will officiate.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Irene will be laid to rest with her husband in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Township.
In lieu of flowers, material contributions can be made to the First Community Church of Leavittsburg, in her memory.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
