Donald E. Clark 1932-2025
WINDHAM — Donald Edward “Don” Clark, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Don was born Sept. 8, 1932, to Annabelle Sites and Livingston Harold Clark.
He was proud of his roots in the hills of Southern Ohio. He graduated from Windham High School in the Class of 1950 and was the last living member of that class.
Don married Joanne Ruth Chaffee on Oct. 7, 1950. Prior to Joanne’s passing in 2013, they had been married for 62 years and shared three children.
Don worked for the Ravenna Arsenal, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and following retirement, the Mallory-Dehaven-Carlson Funeral Home. He enjoyed spending his free time bowling, golfing and mowing his lawn. He rooted for the Cincinnati ball teams from the comfort of his couch. He also spent many mornings with his “breakfast club” over coffee and conversation at McDonald’s. In his younger years, Don enjoyed spending time on the tractor, fitting the fields on the farm.
Don is survived by his children, Anna Marie Evans, Harold (Kelly Reynolds) Clark and Nita (Dave) Apthorpe. He is also survived by his brother, Paul (Jenny) Clark. His grandchildren include Carrie (Todd) Barcikowski, Kristin Craft, Becca (Keith) Nezbeth, Sarita (Ryan) Slone, Cody (Jeni) Apthorpe and Cali (Vince) Apthorpe. He also leaves 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman, Ralph and Larry Clark; as well as his sister, Margaret “Peg” Miller; his son-in-law, Don Evans; and daughter-in-law, Julie (Crane) Clark.
A special thank you to Tammy, Chrystal and the Grace Hospice family for their compassion, care and support throughout Don’s journey.
