Sandra M. Herman 1935-2025
BOCA RATON, Fla. — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra M. Herman, affectionately known as Sandy, who departed this life Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Nov. 2, 1935, in Cleveland, Sandy’s journey took her from the neighborhoods of Youngstown to the warmth and sunshine of South Florida, where she made her home in Boca Raton. She was the daughter of Maurice and Eva Weiner, and sister to Earl Weiner, Joyce Knofsky and Howard Weiner.
Sandy was the beloved wife of Larry Herman, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership and unwavering devotion. Together, they built a beautiful family and a legacy rooted in love and laughter. They were married for over 68 years.
She was a devoted mother to four children: Rhona and her husband, Peter, proud parents of Arick (married to Shannon), Chad and Kaela (married to Dan Ellis); Jeff and his wife, Zeynep, who together share six wonderful children, Eva (married to Romas Marcin, and son, Jax), Sam (married to Annie, and children, Ophelia, Arrow, Oakland and Story), Maccabee, Paisley, Chico and Zoe; Roger, loving father to Ethan, Peyton and extended children Luci, Jasmine and Kris: and Stacey Karpinski, proud mother to Kyle, Zach and Riley.
Sandy was the heart and soul of her family, always the light of the room, quick with a smile, a word of encouragement or a moment of laughter. She held steadfast to the belief that family is life’s greatest treasure, and she lived each day in a way that reflected this truth.
Her warmth, her wisdom and her boundless love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She was cherished by many and will be missed beyond measure.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Beth Israel Memorial Boynton Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
Following will be a graveside service at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 state Road 7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
The family will be holding Shiva at the home of Jeff and Zeynep Herman, 5700 Hamilton Way, Boca Raton, FL 33496, from Wednesday through Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that acts of kindness be extended to others in her honor, just as Sandy did so often and so naturally throughout her life.
