Ruth Ann Mason 1949-2025

She was born Feb. 12, 1949, in Honesville, Arkansas, the daughter of Dan and Rena Jane “Janie” Clark Dancey, residing in the area for two years, coming from Warren. She was a 1966 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

Ruth was employed with the Federal Communications Commission for 20 years as a human resources director before retiring in 2013. She also served as secretary for Congressman George J. Carney.

She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, North Carolina, and a former member of Friendship Baptist Church, Warren, where she served as financial secretary.

She enjoyed golfing, reading, baseball, decorating and traveling.

She leaves to mourn, her husband of 10 years, Clarence Mason; two brothers, Lonnie E. Dancey of Germantown, Maryland, and Donnie H. (Gina) Dancey of Howland; four sisters, Ms. Laura J. Stewart and Mrs. Doris J. (Willie) Thomas, both of Warren, Ms. Danella (Paul) Stephens of Imperial, Pa., and Mrs. Sarah (Cornelius) Smith of Gastonia, North Carolina; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dan Dancey Jr.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church, Warren, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m.

Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
