Patricia A. Hines 1941-2025

NILES — Patricia Ann Hines, 83, passed away peacefully at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland, following an extended illness.
Patricia was born Oct. 22, 1941, in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of John George and Hilda Elizabeth Turk Popadak.
Patricia lived in the Niles community for many years and was an active member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-St. Stephen Church, Niles, where she was a member of the church choir, the Niles Catholic Women’s Club and was a St. Vincent de Paul Society volunteer.
For many years, she was a baker at various bakeries in the Mahoning Valley.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed reading, flower gardening and was an animal champion.
Patricia is survived by her son, Phillip (Lorie) Hines of Sharon, Pa.; two grandchildren, Gio and Cole Travaglino; brother-in-law, Thomas Harkless; nephew, John Harkless; niece, Stacy Solomon; and many longtime great neighbor friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Phillip Hines, whom she married Oct. 29, 1966, and who passed away Jan. 30, 2015; and her only sister, Charlotte Harkless.
Calling hours will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Church, with the Rev. Leo Wehrlin as celebrant.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Vienna.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Pope John XXIII Parish-St. Stephen Church, Niles, in her memory.
