Norma H. Patchin 1935-2025

WARREN — Norma H. Patchin, 89, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 28, 2025, at Woodlands at Hampton Woods in Poland.

She was born Sept. 21, 1935, in Bergoo, W.Va., to Bunnah and Lela Rose Hardway.

A sweet lady with gorgeous, thick white hair and a quick sense of humor, Norma dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker and raising her three children. Once they were adults, she worked as a caretaker and babysitter on and off for years. She served as the property manager for her landlord for over three decades. She also began dog-sitting for close friends later in life.

She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Warren for decades, actively participating in the Winifred Daugherty Circle, the ladies’ quilting circle, vacation Bible school, Bible study, and numerous fundraising and community events. After the closing of First Baptist Church of Warren, she became a member of First United Church of Christ in Warren, where she participated in the First Ladies Group, rummage and bake sales, Bible classes, assisted with luncheons and dinners, and acted as the stand-in secretary when needed.

Norma had a true passion for crafting, whether it was painting, crocheting, coloring or exploring new creative ideas. She loved spending her time wandering the aisles of Pat Catans, hunting for unique treasures in thrift stores and watching QVC. Above all, Norma treasured the time spent with her closest family and friends, as they were the heart of her life.

Norma is survived by her three children, Richard (Sally) Patchin Jr. of Bristol, Tennessee, Terri (William) Mills of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Patricia Scott of Warren; her grandchildren, Jon (Autumn) Luster of Niles and Caitlin (Mark) Ady of Austintown; her sisters, Fran (Larry) Rafaiani of Cortland and Phyllis (Joe) Santinoceto of West Virginia; her son-in-law, Timothy Scott of Leavittsburg; and three great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gordon Hardway; sisters, Janet Dorsey and Nancy Packard; and brother-in-law, William Dorsey.

In keeping with Norma’s wishes, there will be no formal services and cremation will take place.

Her granddaughter, Caitlin, extends heartfelt thanks to Ohio Living Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Norma over the past few years.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Ohio Living Hospice, in her honor.
