Michael P. McVay 1961-2025

He was born Dec. 7, 1961, in Warren, the son of Samuel B. McVay and Vesta Sears McVay.

Michael worked as a fiber optic engineer at Verizon for over 20 years. He previously worked at Schaff Heating and Cooling and also Taylor Winfield.

He loved dancing and listening to music, especially oldies rock and jazz. Michael enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Geneva-on-the-Lake.

He is survived by his daughter, Brianna McVay of Manhattan Beach, California; sons, Michael (Katie) McVay II of Girard and Aaron McVay of Youngstown; mother, Vesta Sears McVay; siblings, Craig McVay of Champion, Bette (Dennis) Nisbett of Cortland and Richard McVay of Champion; his significant other, Maureen Goldfinch; and grandchildren, Gabriel Sardich, Madisyn McVay and Jaxson McVay.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel B. McVay Jr.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
