Johnny A. Cooks 1951-2025
GRANTVILLE, Ga. — Johnny Alvin Cooks, 73, formerly of Warren, transitioned Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in Griffin, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Green-Cooks; his mother, Mary Louise Williams; three daughters, Angel Cooks-McMillian of Tallahassee, Florida, and Alexandria and Jordan Cooks of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren; four stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Johnny, a graduate and coach at Northwestern University, is remembered as a running back and captain at Warren Western Reserve High School. He served four years as a councilman in Grantville, Georgia.
Services will be at noon Monday, July 21, 2025, at Sewell Mortuary, 220 Charlie Patterson Road, Grantville, GA 30220, with a viewing 10 a.m. to noon.
