Dan J. Campana 1928-2025

WARREN — Dan J. Campana, 97, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at his home with his family by his side, after an eight-year battle with dementia.

Dan was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Warren, the son of the late Donato and Rose DeSantis Campana. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

Dan retired in 1985 from the Warren Post Office as a clerk after 25 years. He was also the owner and operator of Trumbull Presort in Warren. Dan was a member and former president of the American Postal Union of Warren and a board member and president of the Trumbull County Postal Employees Credit Union. He enjoyed golf, fishing, music, playing the piano and guitar, and crossword puzzles. Dan was an avid Browns and Indians fan.

He was a member of St. Mary Church.

Dan served our country during World War II in the United States Army.

Dan will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Mary Poling Campana; six children, Ed (Martina) Campana of Warren, Devonna (Louis) Nocera of Girard, Darlene Cross of Warren, Joy Campana of Warren, Danette (Richard) Prince of Burghill and Dan Campana III of Akron; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jerry Cross; four brothers, Renald “Ray,” Joseph, Alfred “Ed” and Robert Campana; and two sisters, Mary Natale and Edith Fancher.

A private family service was held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Burial was in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township.
