Thomas A. James 1945-2025

LORDSTOWN — Thomas Allan James, 79, passed away peacefully following an extended illness, Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

Tom was born July 14, 1945, in Niles, the oldest child of Oliver William and Violet J. Fisher James, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

Tom was a 1963 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, attended West Point Military Academy and Kent State University. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve and an active member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church of Boardman.

Tom was in the construction business all his life and was a bricklayer and owner of James Construction Company for over 60 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed helping his friends and family with the repair of cars and was an active church member. He was passionate about reading his Bible and memorized many passages of scripture.

Tom was especially known for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with his church family and many other friends.

Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee Egolf James, whom he married June 4, 1966, two sons, Timothy (Angela) James of Austintown and David (Barbara) James of Berlin Center; six grandchildren, Andrew James, Noah (Tori) James, Leah (Gabe) Faunda, Christopher (Gina) James, Joshua (Jessica) James and Joel James; two great-grandchildren, Micah and Maisie James; a brother, John William (Wendy) James of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Carolyn R. (William) Comstock of Escondido, California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister ,Margaret Ann James.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, where family and friends may call 10 a.m. to noon. The Rev. Mark Bell will officiate.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
